Are you ready to unite for OTR? NODA Region IV is calling all superheros to unite for Orientation, Transition and Retention on March 3-5 in the great city of Dallas Texas. There will be opportunities for you to learn how to form orientation and transition programs that not only welcom new students, but help students learn how to impact others. There will be many opportunities for both students and professionals to engage in sessions, constructed diaolgues, and opportunities to further enhance your development.

Pre-Conference: OTR (Orientation, Transition, and Retention) Initiatives in Guided Pathways at the Two-Year College
Join us on Friday March, 4th at 1:00pm for a Pre-Conference workshop that will focus on Guided pathways at the Two-Year College. The Pre-Conference workshop will feature an in-depth look at the essential roles orientation, transition, and retention play in supporting students on their path and how to effectively integrate student success strategies into guided pathways. Discussion topics will include: proactive and case management advising models, summer bridge programs, academic support methodologies for “gateway” courses, and intervention strategies for at-risk students.

Undergraduate Case Study Competition
Students will have the opportunity to participate in the Case Study Competition. The purpose of this competition is to engage participants with students from other institutions, and provide critical thinking on topics that they could experience in their role as a student leader. This year there will be two tracks to the Case Study targeting specific populations of participants. More information coming soon!

Educational Session Proposals & Peer Reviewers
Interested in sharing your knowledge about OTR at this year’s Regional Conference? Educational Session Proposals will be open for submissions will open on December 15, 2016. All session proposals must be submitted by January 19, 2017 at 11:59:59 p.m. EST. Forms will be time-stamped upon submission. I

Highlight Session Proposals for Associate Members
Associate Members have the opportunity to submit a proposal to present a Highlight Session at Regional Conferences. Highlight Sessions are time slots dedicated to Associate Members who are interested in showcasing their products or services at regional conferences to NODA members through a conference program session. If selected for a Highlight Session time slot, an Associate Member who is selected to present a Highlight Session will pay the Highlight Session Fee of $100 (in addition to their registration fee).

Regional Awards

Nominate your students and colleagues for Regional Awards. Available Regional Awards include: Outstanding Undergraduate Student Leader Award (Two and Four Year), Outstanding Graduate Student, Outstanding Orientation Professional, Regional Innovative Program, Regional Outstanding New Orientation Professional, and Regional Showcase Award. All nominations are due by January 27, 2017 at 11:59:59 p.m. EST. All forms will be time-stamped upon submission. Publications & Media Showcase
We encourage all schools to bring extra publications and materials to share for the Publication Showcase. This showcase will give schools the opportunity to gain examples, ideas, and inspiration from your fellow colleagues. The items will be placed outside the conference office.

Hotel room rates are subject to applicable state and local taxes in effect at the time of check-out.
If you have a preference between king or double beds please indicate in the “Preference” section of the hotel online reservation.
PARKING: On-site parking is complimentary, however, large buses will be required to pay an additional fee to park.

Parking garage has a clearance height of six feet.

While registering for the conference online, you can either pay with a credit card immediately or create an invoice to pay with a check. If you choose to pay with a check please send it to the NODA Association Office at: 2829 University Ave SE, Suite 415, Minneapolis, MN 55414. We highly recommend paying for your registration fee before arriving on-site for the event, this way your ability to attend will not be hindered. NODA does not accept checks on-site, only credit cards if necessary.

**If you are an undergraduate student, you must be registered by a Graduate, Professional, or Professional Nonmember. Graduates and Undergraduates are both charged the student rate.

Regional Conference Refunds/Cancellation Policy
Please note that all NODA membership fees are nonrefundable once payment has been processed; however, you may request a refund for the conference registration fees based on the following refund timeline. Conference registrants requesting a cancellation that is received in writing to the NODA Home Office on or before 5 p.m., 2 full weeks before the conference, will receive a full refund. Registrants requesting a cancellation in writing on or before 5 p.m, with less than 2 weeks until the conference start date will receive a refund minus $100 late cancellation fee. Absolutely no refunds will be made to individuals canceling within 24 hours of the conference start date. Conference organizers cannot accept refund requests that result from canceled flights and/or natural disasters.
