In a time where budget restrictions are upon us, the costs associated with traveling distances may hinder our ability to pursue professional development opportunities. St. Cloud State University feels that we are centrally located within the region where many NODA members can travel here without much financial hardship. Furthermore, the Director of FYTP, along with the support of the Administration at SCSU believes in continuous improvement and would like to invest in bringing professionals on campus to host conversation about how we can grow as a community, address the concerns of our profession, and further encourage collegial interactions. The institution has agreed to provide lunch for the all participants, free of charge to all NODA V attendees and included with the $20 registration fee to non-NODA V attendees.

The structure of this drive-in will be based off of participant feedback and concerns. There will be several layers of planning involved for this day. First off, before the date, participants will be asked to provide topics to be discussed at the conference (there will be some examples provided to start the discussion). In addition to topics, participants will be asked to submit best practices to be showcased at the drive-in.

This will be an interactive drive-in where participants engage in groups to problem-solve. The hope is that everyone that attends will:

Leave having established a minimum of one new connection within the region,

Have a minimum of three ideas to bring back to implement at their institution,

Be energized, feel empowered, and feel compelled to continue to challenge and evaluate their programs,

Feel that the drive-in was a valuable use of their time.
