Norman K. Russell Scholarships are tenable by students who are enrolled in a graduate program at the time the scholarship is awarded (November, 2008)

A statement (not to exceed three typed double-spaced pages) addressing the following topic:
At the request of administrative leadership at many institutions, Orientation programs are being asked to include information, programming, or activities aimed at raising awareness of diversity issues on their campuses. Discuss the ways diversity issues can influence the many facets of an orientation program. Are there particular issues that need to be addressed during Orientation? Knowing the developmental issues of first-year and transfer student populations, how could these issues be addressed most effectively? Please identify and discuss research, student development theories, and/or assessments that support your statements.
A resume describing your current and/or previous experience with orientation.
An official transcript or official verification form from your graduate institution to verify fall 2008 enrollment.
Two letters of recommendation, one of these letters must be from either a faculty member familiar with your academic background or a supervisor familiar with your orientation experience. If you are not a member of NODA, then one of your letters of recommendation must come from a current NODA member.
The deadline has passed to apply in 2008.
