Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgendered & Allies Issues Network

The purpose of the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgendered, and Allies Issues Network is to educate and raise the consciousness and understanding among non-gay/lesbian/bisexual individuals about the concerns and needs of gay, lesbian and bisexual students and professional colleagues in NODA and other professional associations. It also serves to provide a supportive atmosphere in which individual NODA members who may be struggling with their own sexual identity may discuss those issues.

The Network provides input to the Board of Directors and officers of NODA on gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgendered issues, and also the membership with information on issues which relate to and affect the well-being of GLBTA students on their campuses. Members of the Network are encouraged to develop content sessions on gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgendered, and allies issues to be presented at regional and national conferences, and to provide input into the planning process for national and regional conferences. The Network serves in an advocacy role for GLBTA students and professionals in the university setting and assists the NODA membership in the educational process on related issues.
