The NODA Board of Directors held the Fall 2015 Board of Directors meeting in conjunction with the NODA Annual Conference in Denver, Colorado.  In an effort to keep the NODA membership informed, we share a few highlights below.

Highlights of the Fall 2015 meeting:

  • A speaker specializing in Global Diversity and Inclusion spent a ½ day with the Board to discuss inclusive leadership. The Board spent this time reflecting on themselves as individuals and later reflected on next steps for the Association
  • The year-end financial report was shared and shows that the expenses were not as high as budgeted and the revenue was a bit higher
  • Executive Director Joyce Holl shared staffing updates of the Association Office: Keri Stenemann was promoted to Associate Director, Alice Johnson moved into the Events & Special Initiatives Coordinator position and Diana Yefanova was hired as the Education Program Specialist. The previous position held by Alice was changed to an Office Manager and that individual has been hired and will start in November
  • Conference registration totals include: 1,109 participants: 796 professionals, 105 undergraduate students (71 attended the Student Leadership Institute), 123 graduate students and 84 Associate Members
  • There was a great deal of discussion on the nomination process and elections for the President-Elect and General Board Member positions. The Board wants to be sure that the membership understands the importance of voting and that applicants are being viewed. In addition, the importance of the Nominations Committee in reviewing applications and seeking out nominations is key
  • The Core Competencies draft were reviewed and suggested that further feedback was needed. The draft will be brought to the regional conferences for discussion
  • Motions related to the annual conference site selection, capital budget, investments and a new network all passed

These are just some of the highlights. If you would like a copy of the draft minutes please contact Joyce Holl at
