The 2015 Annual Conference Program Committee is planning to host an inter-association Transition Summit during the 2015 Annual Conference of NODA: The Association for Orientation, Transition & Retention in Higher Education. A 1.25-hour panel will be held for all conference attendees the morning of October 26, 2015. SAHEC associations will be invited to serve as panelists on this panel. Specifically, SAHEC associations will be invited to have representation from a volunteer leader who is a campus practitioner or an association staff member.
Brett Bruner, Director of First Year Experience/Persistence & Retention at Fort Hays State University & the 2015 NODA Annual Conference Program Chair, will serve as moderator to guide this conversation on what transition is, what it can & does look like on campuses, and how OTR professionals can play a role in shaping collaborations across campus to support the transition process. Individual associations will also be able to highlight how their respective functional areas play a role in transition.
Following the Transition Summit, participating associations will be extended an opportunity to host an educational breakout session that will specifically look at how campus OTR professionals can collaborate with their respective functional area to design effective transition programs.
For your role in this SAHEC inter-association Transition Summit, registration will be waived for 1 association member. In addition, a travel reimbursement of $250 will be provided per association participating as a part of the panel or $500 for each association participating in the panel and a breakout session.
