Support Postions

 NODA’s support roles provide members with opportunities to contribute specialized expertise through focused, short-term, or project-based service. These contributions strengthen the Association’s programs and events while expanding opportunities for members to engage with NODA.

Volunteers are sought for Annual and Regional Conferences to review educational program proposals. These opportunities allow NODA members to give back to the Association and ensure that the conferences meet the educational needs of NODA’s diverse membership. Reviewers of all professional levels are welcome.

Each year, NODA presents its Association Awards at the Annual Conference. NODA award nominations are reviewed and awarded based on a peer review process. Each award nomination is evaluated by three or more reviewers. During the application process, peer reviewers are asked to select the award categories they are interested in reviewing. A call for award reviewers is announced to the NODA membership. Reviewers of all professional levels are welcome.

Assists in the initial review of manuscript submissions for the Journal of College Orientation, Transition, and Retention, reviewing manuscripts and helping to promote the journal’s work within their campus and professional networks.

NODA Webinars bring higher education professionals together to explore timely topics in orientation, transition, and retention (OTR) — from first-year student success to campus partnerships, equity and inclusion, and the evolving needs of today’s incoming students.

  • Host: Brings extensive expertise in higher education, particularly OT&R, to lead the webinar — setting the agenda, introducing the presenter(s) and topic, guiding the conversation, and managing Q&A and technical logistics to keep the session running smoothly for attendees.
  • Presenter: A guest or field leader who joins to share their expertise and firsthand experience on a specific OT&R topic, delivering the core content of the session to NODA’s professional audience.

There are many opportunities to volunteer at NODA events. Volunteering for “day of” events is a great way to get involved with NODA and network with your peers. Event volunteer opportunities are announced during event registration and vary by event.
