Letter from the Executive Director - February 2019
Wednesday, February 20, 2019
Hello NODA Members,
We kicked off our 2019 Regional Conference Season this past weekend in Region II! Good luck to everyone attending the regional conferences and safe travels.
As we announced in NODAifications last week, we are now accepting applications for Catalyst Grants. This grant opportunity supports new research that will advance knowledge and best practices within the field of orientation, transition, and retention in higher education. Learn more about the grants, submission process, and previous winners here.
We also announced the opening of education program submissions and peer reviewer applications for the 2019 NODA Annual Conference in Houston, TX. Bring your knowledge to the NODA Annual Conference and submit your proposal related to “Launching Big Ideas”.
In January, we launched the Circle of Excellence campaign honoring individuals who have served as professionals, teachers, leaders, and scholars in the fields of orientation, transition and retention in higher education. February we are especially honoring Jeanine Ward Roof as she celebrates her birthday month and work anniversary. Help us celebrate Jeanine this February and contribute to the Circle of Excellence.
As a nonprofit association, NODA strives for partners that match our mission and provide additional resources to our members. As you plan for orientation, transition and retention programming consider utilizing Skyfactor to assess your student orientation, family orientation and orientation leader assessment. In addition, consider posting your open positions with The Placement Exchange (TPE). TPE is sponsored by seven higher education associations, including NODA, and is the one-stop shop for student affairs positions. Whether posting an open position or looking yourself, consider TPE.
Until next time...
