The U.S. Department of Labor announced the Final Rule in December 2019 for the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). FLSA was first enacted in 1938 and did not have any significant updates for over 50 years. The revisions include rules around “perks and benefits” not included in regular pay rates; bonuses, minimum wage, and overtime pay. The Final Rule went into effect starting January 15, 2020.
