NODA Drive-In Meetings are not intended to replace annual or regional conferences, but they do provide an additional, low-cost, option for OTR professionals to share ideas, learn from each other and connect over common experiences and topics. By nature, NODA Drive-In meetings are planned to be accomplished as a one-day activity. Drive-In meetings may be based on a particular topic, theme or need and are typically less structured than other NODA conferences. These meetings are excellent opportunities for in-state/province connections, focused conversations and professional development.

Upcoming Drive-Ins

Alabama/Mississippi Drive-In

Date: February 15, 2019 from 8:30 am- 3:00 pm

Location: Hill 201, 172 2nd Ave S. Birmingham, AL 35294

Cost: NODA members and students $20, Non-NODA members - $35

Event Description: This even provides a low-cost professional development opportunity that allows participants from across Alabama and Mississippi to network and share best practices in the filed of Orientation, Transition, and Retention. The goal of the drive-in is to provide professional development for professionals, grads, and the "leadership team" within our orientation leader groups.



Georgia Drive-In

Date: February 1, 2019 from 9:00 am- 3:00 pm

Location: University of Georgia

Cost: NODA members $30, Non-NODA members - $45

Event Information: In an effort to continue to promote best practices in Orientation, Transition, and Retention, this event will increase access to professional development opportunities while exploring ideas and issues that are both local and national in scope. As there are numerous state initiatives that are taking place in both public and private institutions, we want to offer a space for OTR professionals to discuss how best to manage the changing landscape of our field. The schedule will be developed using the Core Competencies as a guiding principle for the work to be done.


Kentucky Drive-in

Date: February 22, 2019 from 10:00 am-4:00 pm

Location: University of Kentucky, Gatton Student Center

Cost: NODA members - $25, Non-NODA members - $40

Event Information:  The 2019 Kentucky State Drive-In is a time for Kentucky student affairs professionals to come together to learn about, discuss, and share best practices in the fields of orientation, transition, and retention in higher education. Multiple institution types will be represented as we take a closer look at serving underrepresented populations in OTR. Participants can expect robust discussions, tangible takeaways, and a renewed sense of purpose related to higher education.
