Conference Hosts:

Natalie Rooney, Oregon State University
Brittany Henderson, Cornish College of the Arts

The 2017 NODA Region I conference will be hosted in Corvallis, OR, at Oregon State University. Our theme is “Navigating the Valley of OTR: The Heart of Our Practice.” The theme is a play off the location – “Corvallis” combines the Latin words for “heart of the valley,” and we hope that your travels to Corvallis will allow you to remember with why we work in orientation, transition and retention fields. Join us at our conference to rejuvenate and excite yourself for your upcoming orientation season. Enjoy learning, sharing and fellowship with your Region I colleagues and students!

Conference Feature: Undergraduate Student Case Study Competition
The Undergraduate Case Study provides students an opportunity to participate in a hands-on learning experience where they are able to challenge themselves and collaborate with students from various institutions. Students will be provided a “scenario” similar to the many challenges they face during their orientation and new student programs and will come up with solutions with their team members. Based on their presentation, students may receive awards including, best overall, best team-work, and best problem solving at the closing banquet.
